After Christmas vacations Prof. Dr.-Ing. Norman Franchi and a part of his team were invited to visit the Siemens Industrial Connectivity Lab in Erlangen.
We were really excited to see how the hot research topic of 5G campus networks was implemented at Siemens for research purposes.

The 5G campus network is hereby the driving force for the communication of Siemens’ industrial automation solutions. Uwe Lochner, Andreas Koepke and Dominik Bittner from Siemens introduced to us their system that is completely self-developed from the 5G Core over the 5G RAN to the automation systems. Especially impressive is the configurability of the whole 5G campus network and the ease of use that customers of this system can access. The range, scalability and performance that they were presenting to us for their upcoming new version of the campus network impressed us greatly.
Thank you or your openness and the great opportunity to exchange our experiences!
We are looking forward for further joint research projects and cooperation with Siemens.
Strong partnerships are the basis to drive innovation.
