Since 2016, FAU has awarded the annual university-wide teaching prize, in recognition of outstanding excellence in teaching.
We are thrilled that this year teaching award of the technical faculty was given to Angelika Thalmayer (Institute for Smart Electronics and Systems).

Angelika has been active in teaching as a tutor since WiSe 15/16 and now provides her own Bachelor’s and Master’s courses.
For example, she has been in charge of the exercise „Grundlagen der Elektrotechnik I“ (Fundamentals of Electrical Engineering I) at our institute since WiSe 19/20 and is now co-responsible for the organization of teaching at LITES.

Angelika and her colleagues have also set up a Master’s course on „Multiphysikalische Systeme und Komponenten“ (Multiphysical Systems and Components).
Here, she meanwhile holds the lecture and the related exercise.

Her principle is always to be as close to the students as possible and to take away their fear of “difficult” exercises.
