Jan-Steffen Gröneweg, M.Sc.

PhD Student

FAU Erlangen-Nürnberg
Chair of Electrical Smart City Systems

With the completion of his vocational training in 2012 as an electronics technician for devices and systems with a specialization in information and communication technology, Jan-Steffen was able to gain extensive practical experience in the field of electrical engineering. During his advanced technician training, which Jan-Steffen successfully completed in 2016 as a “state certified engineer,” he was able to expand this experience and build extensive expert knowledge in the field of telecommunications technology.
To complement the practical perspective of his training with theoretical knowledge, Jan-Steffen successfully completed his bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering in 2017 at Glyndwr University in Wales. He then deepened the specialized knowledge he acquired during his bachelor’s studies with a master’s degree focusing on telecommunications technology, specifically on the propagation of electromagnetic waves, and graduated successfully in 2023 from Leibniz University Hannover.
Since October 2024, he has been working as a doctoral candidate at Robert Bosch GmbH in cooperation with FAU Erlangen on the research topic “Joint Communication and Sensing”.
